GENERAL HOSPITAL
..
How
could Alexander Fleming spend the night
among so many camp beds
lining the corridors,
so many death rattles and relatives
dozing
by the bedside of their nearest
and dearest, having already come
to terms
with the inevitable. Death
is but a blinding
flare. You can
neither budge nor hide nor run
away. Thus
radiant and motionless,
time sprinkles you with marble dust,
and
in the morning delivers you, a handsome statue -
as was the
case, I fear, with the aforesaid gent.

risposta?
Col
passar del tempo e con le variazioni del sentimento mi capita di
dubitare della tua esistenza, chiedendomi ohime’ se mai vi e’
stato contatto, sensazione, se vi son stati dei sentimenti.
Quando
inciampi, quando stai tremando e le cose cadono dalle tue mani, e
arrossiscono le tue orecchie e stranamente rimbombano, sono io che ti
chiamo e ti penso aspettando un cenno, un segno, la tua sentenza per
la mia definitiva liberazione, la mia quotidiana condanna.
E
allora sappilo, piu’ la differisci e piu’ io ti penso e ti
chiamo, cosi come diminuiscono gli amici e si chiariscono i due-tre
fondamentali quesiti al punto che non so a chi rivolgere l’ unica e
sola domanda che mi tormenta. ... I bozzetti del tuo sonno Cosi
abbandonate le tue membra in una polvere purpurea: qui il ginocchio,
li
il gomito. Socchiusa la tua boccuccia al corso del tempo: non puoi
dissetarti, stai lottando per guarire, coi pugni chiusi e
involontarie convulsioni

tutto registrato nelle tue lenzuola con inchiostro simpatico. Sono
tre settimane che dormi sul tuo feto morto senza saperlo.
